Our Research Directions

Our research covers a wide range of interdisciplinary fields including materials science, mechanics, biomedicine, and electronic engineering, etc. We mainly focus on the fundamental research and industrialization applications of the following directions: 1) Functional soft materials; 2) Flexible medical implants; 3) Wearable electronics.

Flexible Medical Implants

In response to the challenges faced in clinical medicine and existing medical devices, the construction and exploration of flexible biomedical implants aim to facilitate minimally invasive, high-resolution, and highly accurate methods for disease diagnosis and prevention, as well as personalized, digitized precision treatment, ultimately driving the translation of clinical applications.

Wearable Electronics

The development of novel wearable sensors, actuators, displays, energy conversion devices, and more aims to connect the human body with the Internet of Things (IoT) in a non-invasive and seamless manner, in order to explore medical applications such as disease prevention and early intervention.

Functional Soft Biomaterials

Through employing multi-scale structural design, we aim to innovate advanced soft materials with outstanding electrical, mechanical, optical, and other properties. Our objective is to explore the unique biomedical applications of such functional soft materials, while also laying the material science foundation for developing next-generation human-machine interfaces.
